Local Graff Art 2

In the spirit of the giving season I offer the next installment of the Local Graff series.

Below are some pics I shot in Amsterdam Oost (East) by a place named Flevopark. This park is known as one of the meccas of graffiti, because of all the tall walls and low police intervention. While roaming the area looking for good pics to post, I was fortunate enough to see a group of talented artists paint a new mural in front of me.  Check the pics below

M.C. Escher Art

Out of the brain of a truly talented artist came spiraling staircases and intricate illustrations that baffled the mind and sparked the imagination. These are just a few words used to describe the work of world famous graphic artist M.C. Escher

Maurits Cornelis Escher (17 June 1898 – 27 March 1972) is most famous for his impossible structures, such as Ascending and Descending, Relativity, and his Transformation Prints (Metamorphosis I, Metamorphosis II) which is how I became familiar with his work.

The first illustration of Escher's I saw was Relativity   when I was a kid. At the time I was dumbfounded to how a person could make such intricate three-dimensional structures on paper. Here it is almost twenty years later and I still haven't figured out the secret. I posted a few pieces of his work below, take a look.

Abstract Creations Art

I'm a big art affectionado, I love all mediums of painting, illustration and drawing. Most of my artistic inspiration comes from reading comics when I was a kid. It wasn't until I was older did I get into paintings. Below is one of my favorite Dutch painters Hans Kanters. His style is surrealism like Salvador Dali but with less focus on the landscape and more on the objects or images in the paintings. You can see more of his work at www.hanskanters.com
