New Discoveries

Welcome to 2017! The fields of medicine and technology have expanded rapidly over the last year. Below are a few groundbreaking new discoveries that may have slipped under your radar.

First, is the discovery of a new human organ called the "Mesentery". The Mesentary is an organ located around the intestines that was once thought of as extra fatty tissue. Since its discovery earlier this month, scientists were able to identify its shape and structure. Right now scientists don't know what functions it performs in the human body. Just for the record...There are quite a few disbelievers who think that this is a hoax. They say with all the technology (x-ray, CAT-scan, etcetera) someone would've discovered this organ already. I find the discussion interesting. To learn more about the Mesentery and the doctor who discovered it, watch the video below.

Scientists in Australia have discovered a berry that can cure many types of cancer in just 48 hours. The berry comes from the Blushwood tree, which is only found in the jungles of Queensland, Australia. The seeds from the tree contain a molecule scientist have named EBC-46. Once injected this molecule triggers the immune system to become hyperactive and it attacks cancer cells. The drug has already passed animal trials and is now being tested on humans. Learn more about this amazing discovery by watching the video below.

This is actually an old discovery, but since I'm speaking about seeds that kill cancer, it deserves honorable mention. The apple seed is said to have similar properties to the Blushberry tree. The Apple seed is 10,000 more effective than Chemotherapy, has no harmful side effects, and is effective against any form of cancer. It also has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. Apple seeds are also used to remove parasites and worms from the body. If you want to know why they're not being harvested to fight cancer...watch the video below.

Last, is an invention that would benefit people in countries like Africa, Haiti, and the Middle East. The "WaterSeer," is a device that extracts moisture from the air to create water. This innovative device has no electrical parts or chemicals and produces 11 gallons of clean water a day. This is not a concept model; WaterSeer is a functioning and field tested device. To learn more about the WaterSeer check the video and their website www.waterseer.org for more information. The FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions are found at the bottom of the page.

Male Birth Control Pill

Get ready for a paradigm shift. Soon no longer will it be only women who have the convenience of having pill contraception. New science has several companies working on making the male birth control pill a reality.

Over the years both men and women have wondered why there is no pill based male contraception. The reasons vary depending on which group of scientist you speak too. One reason given is, when birth control pills were created back in the sixties along with the rest of female contraception. The minds behind it didn't think there was interest in a male version, basically saying that birth control was the responsibility of women

Another more scientific reason given is, the male anatomy is vastly different than the females and it's difficult for science to create a pill that doesn't have long term or permanent side effects. Men want contraception....not to be sterilized.

The real reason for no male birth control pill being on the market is money. Over the last forty years there have been several studies and experiments done on male contraception. The results always show promise and media gets people talking, but it stops there. Why? Because the costs to do experiments, gather data, and publish research may cost a couple hundred thousand dollars. The cost to bring a product from the experimental phase to a physical pill form costs a couple hundred million. The scientists that collect this research don't have the funding to make their products a reality.

A Brazilian scientist named Dr. Coutinho, did research with the Chinese in the 1970's to create a male birth control pill made from natural products. The pill was designed to increase male sexual desire, while blocking contraception. It was created by extracting proteins from fibers of Gossypol (a strain of Cotton). According to Dr. Coutinho, the pill is currently in use in China. There have been over two hundred studies published to prove it doesn't effect organ function and has no side effects. The reason the pill isn't being sold in the western world is because pharmaceutical companies won't invest in a natural product they can't patent. He lists several other reasons but you can watch the video and hear it directly from the doctor.

It's been over forty years since the days of the good doctor and it looks like change is on the horizon. Men have a lot more responsibility than they had in the 70's. Back then if you were a dead beat dad there was only garnishment of wages. Now, if you overpay your child support you can get six months in prison. That may sound like an exaggeration, but watch the video below and see my words as fact.

Recently an Australian group of scientists were able to make a group of male mice temporarily infertile, without effecting their virility or sex drive. The new research seems promising and they believe it won't be long before human trials. Watch the video below for more information on the new research and the exact science behind it.

In modern times men face severe penalties for creating children. A male birth control pill would give men more control over our sex lives and put the power of contraception in the hands of both sexes.

Aussie Hip-Hop

There are numerous reasons to visit Australia, also known as the land down under. Most people go for the sand, sun, and beaches but recently people have been checking for Hip-Hop.

I was fortunate enough to visit Perth, in Western Australia, several years ago. While I was there most days were filled with Bar-B-Q's on the beaches, surfing, and sun-bleached blondes. (try saying that sentence fast 5 times) I was only there for a short time and didn't see much urban culture. Most of the nightlife was rock bands and the clubs played a mix of pop and top 40 music. Some of my friends who were in Sidney at the time told me they were in the Hip-Hop hotspot.

The Aussie Hip-Hop scene has been independently developing since the late-eighties. Most of their early exposure to Hip-Hop came from television and radio programs. Before the music became popular, other elements of the culture (like break-dancing and graffiti) had already taken root. Their scene is grassroots and underground. Most of the early releases were done by indie labels usually run by the artists themselves. Their style is a blend of Reggae/American rap combined with European influences and local slang.

Just like everywhere else there is a division of wealth, community, and resources. These topics were brought to public attention by Aboriginal (Australian indigenous people) rappers like Brothablack, Local Knowledge, Native Ryme Sindicate and others who are considered conscious MC's.

Recently there has been an explosion of Aussie talent hitting the airwaves. Iggy Azalea made headlines when she signed with T.I.s southern imprint Grand Hustle. Bliss n Eso made a global impression with their album "Flying Colours," from 2008. I like those cats. The Hilltop Hoods, have a track "Nosebleed Section," that reminds me of "Paul Revere," by the Beastie Boys

Below are tracks from Iggy Azalea, Young Warriors Ft. OutLawz, Bliss n Eso, The Last Kinection, and The Hilltop Hoods showing that, there is a lot of talent rising from the land down under.
