Resurrecting the Dead

Tupac Shakur dead in 1995. His legacy is in the music which has endured and gained more popularity over the last 17 years. Recently at the 2012 Coachella festival a 3D (3 dimensional) hologram of Tupac was debuted performing along side west coast legend Snoop Dogg. The image was like a scene out of science fiction films. The hologram was so realistic it had viewers questioning if Tupac had been resurrected from the dead like Lazarus or was alive and had faked his death like Machiavelli.

The hologram costs a reported 10 million U.S. dollars to create. It was designed by a company out of London which uses a state of the art high definition camera to broadcast a 3D holographic image on stage. The hologram gives the illusion of a real person and is created from scratch. Which means they don't use revamped archive footage or old video. Instead they create the entire image and performance from scratch

This technology opens the door for artists and government delegates to give performances or speeches from a remote location while viewers believe they're seeing the real thing. The military applications for this type of technology are to numerous to count and not part of this post. But I'm sure if you watch the videos below you can come up with a few on your own. Check it out

Older Muzik

Originally this post was going to be about new music. The problem is I didn't find enough new music that I like to post. There are new faces popping up on the internet everyday and the majority of them are wack! Lets be real. I'm hearing catz claim to be rappers but their verses don't rhyme. Other catz why can rhyme have a whole song of punch-lines. The song has no structure, meaning a beginning, middle and end. Finally you have these Cat in the Hat rappers whose rhymes are so simple a 7 year old could do better. Which is why there are so many 7 - 10 year old kids with record deals now. Its not that these kids are dope, its that the adults around them suck.

On a whole different subject. For the people writing me, asking why I don't put music by Lil B or Odd Future on the blog. Its because I don't like there music...period! I post music I like, and that I listen to. I don't have anything against them as artists but the music they make I'm not into. So save the emails, and stop with the requests, cuz its not going to happen...real talk.

With that said, I decided to post some Older Muzik. Music by artists who knew how to rhyme and song write. MC's and groups that respected the craft and created music that made you feel something. Below are tunes by Styles of Beyond, DMX, Cali Agents, Thirstin Howl The 3rd, Tupac, and Onyx. All groups and artists that made (and some still making) music people can feel.

3rd Coast Rappers

Most people talk about the East and West Coast and don't acknowledge the 3rd Coast...the South. I've spent some time in Texas and lived in Alabama, North Carolina and South Carolina. At the bottom of Texas is the gulf of Mexico and they throw some wild parties there during the summer. In Galveston, Texas (The Bay Area) the have a annual Mardi Gras festival similar to New Orleans, where girls strip for beads.

I'm not a big fan of southern Hip-Hop but there are some artists out there who can spit. Below are a few 3rd Coast (southern artists) Ludacris, Chamillionaire, Outkast, Bun B, and Scarface who all have tunes on my MP3 player.
