New Video: Love Hip-Hop

Today the video for Love Hip-Hop was released! The video features footage from Amsterdam to Africa and displays all five elements of Hip-Hop culture.

If you're new to the culture let me break down the elements. 1. Knowledge - As in Knowledge of self, the culture, and the world around you. 2. MCing - Master of Ceremonies, mean having the ability to rock  (entertain) a "LIVE" audience. 3. DJing - Spinning records that rock a crowd. 4. Bboying - Also known as Breakin or Breakdance. 5. Graffiti - Using Aerosol cans, to make murals, letters, and other imagery on public property.

This project took awhile because shooting footage of all the elements while trying to meet a deadline was difficult. For indie video makers its important to utilize all the free resources available like Beachfront B-Roll, Vimeo and VideoBlocks for stock footage. I'm pleased with the end result ...and I hope u are too. Check out the video below. If u like what u see tell a friend to tell a friend.

Muzik News

To all Hip-Hop Heads world-wide.

My song "Four Walls," the last single off Tha Audio Bully album is now available on all digital platforms. The treatment for the video is already done and shooting will begin after the "Love Hip-Hop" video is released next month.

The video production for "Love Hip-Hop" was started last week. After scouting around Amsterdam to Haarlem for a few days we finally found the best spots to guerrilla shoot (shooting without a permit). The day after we began shooting it began to rain.

Most of the video is shot outdoors. The weather has been rainy and inhospitable so outdoor shots were on hold for the last few days. Two of the locations feature graffiti from local artists in different styles. Some people do lettering, while others design whole scenes. One of my favorite locations features characters from the Guardians of Galaxy movie

The concept for the video is to show all the elements of Hip-Hop. MC'ing, Graffiti, DJ'ing, B-Boying, and Knowledge combined to give a visual to the song lyrics. I'll write another post once the video is done. Until then check out the new music and some pics from the video shoot below.

Chicken Dinner Date

Chicken Dinner Date is a short, romantic, comedy about a guy trying to impress a girl by making her dinner. The film is based on a screenplay written by Writer/Producer Benn Flore. I finished editing the project days ago but the soundtrack took awhile.

I never appreciated how much influence a soundtrack has on a movie. Different sounds help convey the emotion of the story, other sounds set the pace. I've been on a few movie sets and more video sets than I can count, but I've never seen all the components that go into making a movie until now. This project gave me a whole new appreciation of the craft.

Below is the movie trailer, check it out, leave a comment and if you like it tell a friend.

New Video Exclusive

Hello Readers,

Like the title says this is a new video exclusive (within the first few minutes of being uploaded) release of my new video "Wanna Sound Like Me".

The song is off Tha Audio Bully album coming later this year. The video is fast paced visuals that follow the lyrics and provide a 3D experience to the song. The song is lyrical and melodic, so the video is meant to give images to what the rhymes are saying. I believe in making a fan a day, cuz it helps the music reach new ears. Check out the video and if you like it, forward it to a friend.

My Addictions

Hello Music Lovers,

Here is my new video "My Addictions" off the Grindin Muzik album. The video features footage from shows in New York, Miami, Amsterdam and Las Vegas. The song is about dealing with addiction.

Everyone has an addiction to something. It can be to their cell phone, food, drugs, work, sex, or money. There's nothing wrong with having an addiction. It only becomes a problem when a person lets it get out of control. When I was younger that's what O.G.'s (Original "Old" Gangsta's) would call "having a monkey on your back."  My addictions are no worse than then next persons the only difference is... I'm honest about mine.

Resurrecting the Dead

Tupac Shakur dead in 1995. His legacy is in the music which has endured and gained more popularity over the last 17 years. Recently at the 2012 Coachella festival a 3D (3 dimensional) hologram of Tupac was debuted performing along side west coast legend Snoop Dogg. The image was like a scene out of science fiction films. The hologram was so realistic it had viewers questioning if Tupac had been resurrected from the dead like Lazarus or was alive and had faked his death like Machiavelli.

The hologram costs a reported 10 million U.S. dollars to create. It was designed by a company out of London which uses a state of the art high definition camera to broadcast a 3D holographic image on stage. The hologram gives the illusion of a real person and is created from scratch. Which means they don't use revamped archive footage or old video. Instead they create the entire image and performance from scratch

This technology opens the door for artists and government delegates to give performances or speeches from a remote location while viewers believe they're seeing the real thing. The military applications for this type of technology are to numerous to count and not part of this post. But I'm sure if you watch the videos below you can come up with a few on your own.
